Holly's Final Kawaii Box

by Wendy Purdy

Holly experienced some mixed emotions while opening her final Kawaii Box. She ordered a six-month subscription with some of her Christmas money, and alas, the final box arrived. She really enjoyed this box, so I wouldn't be surprised if she uses gift money in the future for another subscription.

SanX Characters - July 2016 Q Box

by Wendy Purdy

The PurdyCool girls recognized some characters, but not others, in this month's edition of Q Box. Of course, I think their favorite items were the ones featuring Rilakkuma...the "relax bear." I know if they ever need a volunteer to be the "relax mom," I will raise my hand and yell, "PICK ME!! PICK ME!"

Dragon Fanspirations Box

by Wendy Purdy

Taylor finally received her dragon-themed Fanspirations box! Some sort of problem with shipping caused a delay of over a month. In fact, they just shipped the contents of this box along with her May box (which was a Dr. Who themed box she gave to Holly as a birthday gift).

Travel Time - April 2016 Q Box

by Wendy Purdy

The April Q Box featured items that were not only adorable, but very handy for travel purposes. I'm a little late posting this video...they opened this box about three weeks ago. However, we experienced some technical difficulties near the end of filming. I tried to recover the footage, but alas, it was not meant to be.

Indian Mousse

By Holly Purdy

Hello everyone, I've been studying India during school, so I made some Indian Mousse.

Here I have all my ingredients with me.

Here I have all my ingredients with me.

First, I would like to say that this was REALLY good and I had a great time making this. To start, I got out the ingredients. I was a little confused because I couldn't find the coriander and the cardamom in the spice box. Thankfully, I was just being an idiot, and I found them. Next, we whisked the batch of batter. It was really hard to whisk it.

Then we whisked...A LOT.

Then we whisked...A LOT.

So we cheated and brought out the mixer. ;-) I splattered it a lot. Then, we poured it into some small salsa bowls and set it in the refrigerator to chill.

A delicate process of pouring the mousse. (I think I spilled some...)

After our dinner of delicious lasagna, we finally ate the mousse. I would want to eat this again, but I don't want to make it.

Here is a masterpiece, a tear-jerker..the art of mousse.

New FabKids Outfit

by Wendy Purdy

Holly desperately needed new dressy shoes to wear to church and any other possible special occasions. She liked her previous outfit from FabKids so much, we decided to give their shoe selection a try. She found a pair she really liked, but I wasn't sure about the size. I discovered the site has a shoe chart you can print and use to measure your child's feet. So, after measuring her feet, we found a pair of nice sandals that will go with all of the nicer clothes she owns. I also let her choose a new outfit as well. In the past, she mostly wore her sister's hand-me-down dresses. However, Taylor does not wear dresses that often anymore, but Holly still enjoys them. The nice thing about the FabKids outfits is that she can wear the leggings with so many other things in her closet.

Kawaii Box - March 2016

Time for Holly to open another Kawaii Box!! Although we are well into April, this is actually the March box. Since this box ships from Singapore near the end of the month, it's not unusual to receive one month's box well into the next month.

Kittens and Cookies - Feb. Kawaii Box

Holly finally received her February Kawaii Box....our last February box to arrive. It may seem as though it's super late, but it ships from Singapore near the end of the month, so it actually arrived in a timely manner. It's just sometimes hard to explain to a 10-year-old girl who is eagerly awaiting her treasure trove. So...without further ado...here's Holly!!

Bean Boozled Challenge

Wendy received a package of "BeanBoozled" jelly beans in her birthday surprise box from her Texas siblings, but she wasn't brave enough to try them. The girls, however, decided to conduct a full-blown "BeanBoozled" challenge. The results were hilarious...and maybe a little stomach-churning....

Taylor's February Fanspirations Box...Pony Time!!

Taylor decided to use some of her Christmas money to order a Fanspirations subscription box. This particular box is neat because you can choose your fandom. You can receive the same fandom every month, or change whenever you want something new. For her first box, she chose "My Little Pony." They also have different sizes at different price points. Taylor selected the smallest box. I think she was pleased with all of her items....

Holly's Jan. Kawaii Box

Holly opened her first Kawaii Box. The girls informed me (Wendy) that "kawaii" basically means cute. The box is aptly named. Feel free to watch the video and see a little girl squee over all the cute items in this box:

Christmas County Spelling Bee

From Holly: I had a wonderful time appearing in the "Christmas County Spelling Bee" at Ocean View Baptist Church. Our choir director, Mr. Kurtz, did a good job preparing us for the show. He had a lot of help from Ms. Minerva and Ms. Chikki as well.

Note from Mom: The kids did a fantastic job in the Christmas musical. Thanks to everyone who helped pull this together.
